HTML Editor Tips

Copying Text Tips: You should never copy text from Microsoft Word (or any other program) into the HTML Editor. If you want to write the text for your email in Word, you should not format the text (make the text bold, centered and so forth) in Microsoft Word, as the Word formatting will need to be removed, because Microsoft Word code will be in your email content (and your email will not appear correctly when received). If you need to use text that has been composed in Microsoft Word (or any other program), you should perform the following steps to remove the Microsoft Word (or any other program) code from the text:

3.  In the Word Document (or any other program), select the text with your mouse. If you need to select all the text in the document, you can press the CTRL Key and the “A” key to “select all”.

4.  Copy the selected text. As a shortcut, you can press the CTRL Key and the “C” key to “copy”.

5.  Open Microsoft Notepad.

6.  Paste the text into Microsoft Notepad. As a shortcut, you can press the CTRL Key and the “V” key to “paste”.

7.  Save the Notepad file to your local computer. Notepad is a text only program. Saving in Notepad will remove Microsoft Word code from your text.

8.  In Notepad, select the text with your mouse. If you need to select all the text in the document, you can press the CTRL Key and the “A” key to “select all”.

9.  Copy the selected text. As a shortcut, you can press the CTRL Key and the “C” key to “copy”.

10.  Open Email Broadcast and follow the steps until you reach the Compose Email HTML Editor screen.

11.  Paste the text into the Email Broadcast HTML Editor. As a shortcut, you can press the CTRL Key and the “V” key to “paste”.

12.  Format your email content using the options in the HTML Editor. See the HTML Editor Tips below for details on how to use the HTML Editor.

Enter content and use the HTML Editor Tool Bar options outlined below to format the content as appropriate. When you are finished formatting the content, click the Update button to save the content.
